Academics
Company F-2 is a technical outfit, which means that we accept primarily engineering freshman. We are dedicated to the success of our freshmen in their majors and devote a large period of time to studying. Among technical outfits, F-2 is known for having a strong GPR. In addition, several Foxes are members of university honor societies such as the Corps' own General O.R. Simpson Honor Society and Phi Eta Sigma.
The strongest benefit of being in a technical outfit for engineering freshman is that the majority of our upperclassmen are still engineering majors and mentor freshmen. All freshmen are paired with a junior or senior cadet with a similar major. This 'white belt mentor' has already taken and passed many of the same classes that your son will take for his major.
F-2 has an outfit academic mentor, Mrs. Julie Carroll. Mrs. Carroll was the F-2 academic advisor from 1998-1999 and provides academic and personal mentoring to all foxes. She has agreed to return for the 2010-2011 school year, and we are excited about working with her to ensure your son's academic success.
For the Spring 2010 semester, F-2's freshmen finished sixth overall in the Corps class of 2013, with an average GPR of 2.9087. This is a tremendous accomplishment, especially considering the difficulty of the class of 2013's majors.
The junior class of 2011 finished ninth in the Corps with a 3.0329 average GPR.
